New England Patriots Fandom

My first football memory is rooting for the 1985 Patriots as they got pummeled in the Super Bowl.

In elementary school we were the Ronald Reagan Patriots. Out in rural New Mexico, the Bledsoe-era Patriots had better coverage than any other team — the first pro sports website and the original podcast reached us before anyone else.

I mowed lawns dreaming, unrealistically, of getting to old Foxboro Stadium.

All-time favorites: Curtis Martin, Chris Slade, Ty Law, Patrick Chung, Marcus Jones.
